Genres: Romantic Suspense
***This is the fourth book in the series. First three books must be read first in order to understand this story line.***
I was a pawn. Weak and someone easily manipulated. To be played with as he saw fit. Until YOU.
YOU shone light in my now dark world. It was YOU who made me smile. For the first time in this game, I had hope. All because of YOU.
The more powerful pieces on the board, however, were a threat to YOU and me. They would win at any cost. Two kings ruling with an iron fist. Allies or opponents, it was hard to tell.
YOU promised to save me. Told me we would win.
But then I was on the wrong side of the board. This isn't YOU, baby. And I don't know what to do.
The game is almost over and I'm counting on YOU. Tick, tock...
Warning: This Isn’t You, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes, excessive drug use, and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for YOU.
This story will make YOU smile.
This story will make YOU angry.
This story will make YOU crazy.
I hope YOU love it, baby.
The Isn’t You, Baby (War & Peace #4) by K. Webster
My Thoughts on This Isn’t You, Baby…
Oh K. Webster. She loves to toy with our emotions. I know she’s an evil genius and she sits at her computer thinking of ways to toy with her readers!! She has the amazing ability to make you fall in love with the unlovable. It’s crazy! You think, you should despise a character and you end up loving them! She did it in the first book in the series with Gabe and now we meet a new family to the War & Peace series, The Rojas family. They are ruthless drug lords that will kill to protect what’s theirs. They have a code they live by and when that code is broken, all bets are off. I didn’t expect them to be likable, because hello, they are ruthless drug lords. But Duvan and Ozzie… sigh… I loved them. They were loyal and protectors and that is exactly want Gabriella needed.
We met Gabriella in the last novel. She is in the infamous Gabe’s daughter who is currently living with foster parents. She’s a feisty seventeen year old counting down the days until she is eighteen and is able to leave the hell she finds herself in. The only bright spots are her friends: Vee, Ozzie, and Ren. They are a great supporting cast and I really hope we get more from them!! Her foster father makes her dress up for his parties and makes her feel like a piece of meat rather than a young women. She is devastated to find out days before her birthday she will be married to a Rojas Brother as part of an arranged marriage. Ozzie is a Rojas so she is hoping that if anyone it will be him. But he’s the youngest Rojas, his older brothers Esteban and Duvan are the ones who run the empire with their father. She’s met both of them before and they both look at her like they want to eat her alive. She loathes the fact she is forced to marry one of them.
When she is taken away she is thrown into a world she never expected, she is treated like royalty. She is romanced and actually starts to fall in love with her now husband. Jealousy will quickly show it’s evil head and Gabriella falls into the trap of the brother the lost her hand in marriage. Using any way he knows how, he will get Gabriella to be his. Remember, we are talking ruthless drug lords here! It was frustrating and devastating. My heart just broke for Gabriella. She was forced into a world she wanted no part of, to actually liking it, then to have her world turned upside all over again! How the story unfolded was unexpected but with K. Webster, I should expect the unexpected! She is a master of dark and delicious reads and This Isn’t You, Baby is no exception! This series is one of my favorites and one that I would highly recommend!
