My first love ruined me. My second love saved me.

I used to believe in for better or worse. I used to believe in forsaking all others.

But now my husband is no longer the man I married. And the man who took away my fairy tale wants to give it back.

The one who broke me has become my lifeline. The one who fixed me has become my toxin.

What happens when 'till death do us part' becomes a life sentence? When you have to choose between shattering your vow and destroying yourself? When your sin becomes your salvation?

This is the story of a love written in the stars as viewed from rock bottom.

*If cheating is a hard limit, please don't read this book. But if you believe in the power of unconditional love and forgiveness, soul mates and second chances, I wrote this for you.*

The Solemn Vow is a full-length STANDALONE novel.

My Thoughts…

I was so excited to read this book!!! First off, that blurb!! WOWZA!!!  It got me hook, line, and sinker!!  This is the kind of book I live for! This is a new to me author that I’ve never heard of but that blurb just sold me! Second, that cover!  Wow.  It’s just gorgeous!! I’m such a cover whore and love it when a beautiful cover catches my eye!!  I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this story! The events are based on a true story and this just made it so much more tragic. To know someone lived this just broke my heart! But with that I LOVED IT! I love angsty reads filed with love gone wrong.  It’s a great escape from my everyday life.  I would HIGHLY recommend The Solemn Vow and I’m excited to see what other books are out there from Bree Dahlia!

Maddie and Cain are happily married for a couple of years when the opportunity comes up to buy Cain’s family home where he grew up. It’s a century hold money pit but once fixed up it would be a beautiful place to begin a family. Maddie quits her regular job to become a freelance artist while Cain received a big promotion at work.  Over time, their relationship gets strained. It seems like the weight of the new endeavor is taking its toll on the two of them and Cain starts morphing into a person Maddie doesn’t recognize.

While running into town one day, Maddie runs into Jake.  At one time they had a bright future ahead of them being high school sweethearts and all. They had plans to go to college together and start a life. But when Jake broke her heart, she moved on.  It took years to move past that.  Now seeing him again all these years later, no longer a teenage boy but a man she is thrown back in time were all those emotions come flowing back.  With her marriage falling apart, she turns to Jake to comfort her.

Maddie life is now seems to be spiraling out of control.  At home with Cain life is miserable and she can only find peace with Jake.  But Jake has broken her heart once before.  She must decide if her marriage is worth saving or take the plunge and take a risk with Jake.  It’s heartbreaking, emotional, and oh my heart just broke for them all!!  Who will Maddie pick?  You will need to read The Solemn Vow to find out!!   I’ll just leave you with my favorite quote from the book…

For better or for worse.  But what do you do when the worse starts to outweighing the better? What do you do when it’s too bad to stay but too good to leave?

About Bree Dahlia

Bree Dahlia is an unconventional romance junkie. Her stories range from lighthearted to sizzling with that satisfying happily-ever-after ending and a touch of the unexpected. She favors themes of friendship, forgiveness, and unconditional love with alpha characters and eccentric tastes.
She holds degrees that look pretty in a frame and has sampled a long string of jobs that have left a lot to be desired. Only as an author has she found her passion. When not crafting stories in her small Wisconsin town, she hikes unbeaten trails, watches hockey games, and wishes she didn’t detest cooking so much.
Dahlia is her middle name. Her last name is more suitable for a horror writer.
