I’m f*cked.
The life I have lived for the past ten years is built solely on lies and secrets.
But I can’t help myself.
I’m in love with two different men. And one of them is my brother-in-law.
He’s my drug. My fire. My addiction.
But he’s married to my best friend. And I’m married to my husband.
I’m not ashamed. I have no guilt.
I’m not only f*cked. I’m a f*cked up person.
This is the story of how I ruined my life.
And the life of the one I love most.

My thoughts on Torrid Affair

Callie Anderson has quickly moved up my favorite author list!! Her debut series just blew me away and now with her latest standalone Torrid Affair it’s only solidified her status as an author that MUST BE READ! If you are a sucker for angsty romance with a side of heartbreak Callie is your girl!   Torrid Affair was not what I was expecting. Sure I knew it would be scandalous but how the story unfolded, it was just so much more! It’s like fate was working against THEM ALL and it was so heartbreaking to read!  I wanted them to find their happily ever after but at every turn there was another path for them.  If cheating is a hard limit for you I would not recommend this book.  The story is told in a dual point of view and is a complete story with no cliffhanger.

Brielle and Nate met the first day of school Brielle’s junior year. He took her parking spot and when he discovered they shared the same class and she was late because of him, he offered to make it up to her.  They hit it off, they just clicked and it seemed like a match made in heaven.  Until Brielle’s roommate Delaney invites her to a football game to meet an old high school friend. Little does she know the same person that Delaney was swooning over was the Nate.  Brielle never shared the specifics of the date and now that she knew that Delaney had her eyes on him, he was now off limits.

Brielle and Nate remain friends and never shared with Delaney that they had already met each other. Set on just being friends Brielle meets Nate’s brother Julian. Even though she and Julian date, it’s just not the same.  There are no sparks or butterflies like there was with Nate. With them having the same class they still have contact and both of them feel the spark with the other is around. Nate decides he wants to be with Brielle and not Delaney and has been distancing himself from Delaney.  Then it seems all hell breaks loose and the chain of events will have lasting effects on everyone.

Fast forward ten years and Brielle’s life is never what she imaged it. She needs the help of the one person that broke her heart all those years ago.   A person can only take so much and has a breaking point and Brielle has hit hers.  She trying to the right thing but it seems it always is never the right decision.  It’s heartbreaking and painful and I just wanted her to be happy. How the pieces start to fall into place had me glued to my kindle and I just devoured the last half of the book.  DEVOURED I tell you!! Like you go hide in quiet places so you can finish reading DEVOURED!!   Go pick this one up to see how Brielle and Nate’s story unfolds!!   I love this quote from the book as it sums up Torrid Affair perfectly!

Love is fucked up. Whoever said it was the most wonderful and beautiful thing in the world is full of shit.  I was a straight A student, but when it came to falling in love, I failed miserably.  It wasn’t that I didn’t know how to love.  I loved unconditionally and hopelessly.  It was simply that I fell in love with the wrong guy.

Another complicated love story. The review has me on stitches and I’m not even reading the book yet! Love the review. True, no one has ever said that life is easy or fair and/or lover is forever …
