This wasn’t supposed to happen. But it did. This wasn’t supposed to be my life. But it was.

I was just a typical girl, living a typical life. Nothing was out of the ordinary until tragedy threw me into a turnstile I couldn’t see my way out of. That was, until him.

I never could’ve imagined my heart falling the way it did. Hard, fast, and with unbounding beauty.

The only problem? He was off limits. Forbidden.

But he became my everything, and I became his, so we risked it all. It was only a matter of time until I realized that our risk came with unimaginable consequences.

My name is Camellia Hale and his is David Andrews, and this is our love story.

Review: Secret Lucidity by EK Blair

My Thoughts…

I love a taboo read that make you question you’re own sanity that may blur the lines of right and wrong.  While Secret Lucidity by EK Blair did suck me into the story, I thought at times there could be so much more to this story!  I was drawn into Cam and David’s story immediately, don’t get me wrong I was intrigued by their story but as I read I wondered about certain parts of the story and where they needed?  But besides that I thought this was a solid 4 star read and would recommend to those who enjoy a taboo read.

It’s the last day of her junior year in high school and Cam is looking forward to the summer and her last year of school.  She’s a top swimmer on her swim team and with her Dad as her coach, she is excited that this is the year and blossoms.  One tragic event will change everything.   She goes from a happy go lucky high school teenager to a girl that can’t stand to look in the mirror at herself.  Only one person understands her turmoil, unfortunately he’s also her English Lit teacher and new swim coach.

David is the only person that seems to understand Cam.  She’s exclude herself from her friends and her mom is a shell of the person she used to be.  She feels utterly alone and when David consoles her one day, it leads to something neither expected.  They both know they are walking a thin line but with only six months until Cam turns eighteen, they are willing to risk it all for love.

Is it love or infatuation? Can you find love at such a young age or is he taking advantage of the situation?  Secret Lucidity will have you turning the pages until the end to see how Cam and David’s story unfolds.  I know it did for me!  Will it for you?? You will need to one click to find out!
